Tony Castro Unveils 75m Motorsailer Concept ‘Peregrine’ for Unlimited Global Exploration

-

Renowned yacht designer Tony Castro has unveiled his latest concept: Peregrine, a bold and boundary-breaking 75-metre motorsailer engineered for “no-limits exploration” across the globe’s most remote waters.

Fusing wind power, solar energy, and hybrid propulsion, Peregrine has been envisioned as a high-performance vessel with minimal environmental impact and “near unlimited range,” tailor-made for extended voyages in tropical climates and off-the-grid destinations.

“A motorsailer dramatically reduces delivery costs, improves operational efficiency and provides guests with a true sailing experience, free from engine noise and pollution,” said Castro. “It allows for ‘no-limits’ exploration, just as the peregrine falcon navigates the sky with boundless freedom.”

Design Details

At the heart of Peregrine is a sculptural, multifunctional aft deck that redefines outdoor living. A dramatic starboard lounge alcove is fitted with plush seating, a floating firepit, an infinity dip pool, and seamless access to a generous swim platform and tender storage. The space connects fluidly to an upper open-air lounge, sheltered beneath a helipad, allowing for seamless guest movement from sea to sky.

On the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite includes a private office with a library, an en suite bathroom, a dressing room, and direct access to a private balcony. A dramatic, glass-walled main saloon acts as the central gathering space, linked vertically by a sculptural staircase at the yacht’s heart.

Dual Versions: Luxe & Explorer

Two distinct layout options are available:

  • Luxe Version – Focused on guest comfort and al fresco living, with expansive deck lounges and elevated amenities for leisure-focused owners or charter clients.
  • Explorer Version – Tailored for scientific research and marine discovery, featuring modular container zones, live fish tanks, and heavy-duty cranes integrated into the aft.

Sustainability Meets Performance

Peregrine’s hybrid propulsion system is supported by expansive solar panels, which power onboard systems and contribute to the yacht’s low operational footprint. Classic ketch rigging, carbon fibre masts, and furling booms are complemented by three roller furling headsails, offering reliable performance across varied weather conditions.

Accommodation across the yacht includes five luxurious guest cabins on the lower deck, alongside a convertible cinema/meeting room and generous crew quarters, ensuring comfort and adaptability for both private use and commercial charter.
