Italian design studio Bassan&Benedetti has lifted the veil on Altrove, a bold new 90-metre explorer yacht concept that merges scientific capability with ultra-luxury living. Purpose-built for deep-sea expeditions and elite-level charter, Altrove is described as a vessel where “the pleasures of navigation meet unparalleled luxury.”
Designed with extreme voyages in mind, the 5,000GT yacht boasts a reverse bow and clean, angular exterior lines that convey what the designers call “resilience and strength.” Inside, the concept is packed with high-tech exploration tools and resort-like wellness facilities—making Altrove as ready for research as it is for Riviera relaxation.
Science Meets Superyacht Style
At the heart of Altrove is a wet and dry science lab capable of supporting up to four onboard scientists or specialist guides. The vessel can accommodate 18-person expeditions, equipped to handle both challenging weather conditions and extended voyages far from shore.
Complementing this technical prowess are two panoramic observation lounges—forward on the upper deck and aft on the bridge deck—each offering 360-degree views of the surrounding seascape.
The “Gala Helideck”
One of Altrove’s most distinctive features is its multi-functional helideck, which includes a fully enclosed hangar suitable for helicopters such as the Airbus H135, H130, H125, or Bell 407.
