Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has unveiled its latest masterpiece, the 52-metre S520 superyacht model, at this year’s Palm Beach International Boat Show.
The S520 is positioned as a “reinvention” of the popular S501 series, which saw its sixth unit, the 49.9-metre Rilassata, launched just last year. Designed once again by Francesco Paszkowski, the new model retains the signature sporty lines and “winning proportions” of its predecessor, but now boasts a larger “gun-metal grey” exterior for a more striking presence on the water.
Enhanced Outdoor Living Spaces
The increased LOA (length overall) has translated into significantly expanded outdoor spaces, including an extended flybridge, a larger upper deck skylounge, and a longer, wider sundeck complete with an infinity pool.
One of the standout features is the redesigned stern configuration, which creates a seamless connection between the main deck, aft platform, and the beach club. The latter is now split-level, featuring spacious sunbathing areas and abundant natural light thanks to two opening side platforms and several strategically placed portholes—including one with a direct view of the infinity pool.
Practical Innovations
Tankoa has also introduced several new functional design elements in the S520, including:
- An integrated tender crane at the bow
- A gangway built into the aft platform
- Staircases relocated to the port side, maximizing the upper deck’s entertainment space
- A dedicated forward toy storage area on the upper deck
Elegant Interior Design
The yacht’s interior is a collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, who recently worked together on the 58-metre Diamond Binta. Higher ceilings and larger windows result in an airier, more luminous feel compared to the S501, with a modern, grey-toned color palette that complements the yacht’s exterior.
Accommodation includes a generously sized owner’s suite, complete with a private lounge, study, walk-in wardrobe, and vanity area, ensuring a luxurious and functional living experience.

Tankoa’s Expanding Superyacht Portfolio
Tankoa Yachts currently has nine superyacht projects on order or under construction, the largest of which is a 56-metre project commissioned by a “young American couple.”
The Italian yard had a strong presence at the Palm Beach International Boat Show this year, celebrating the world premiere of the 45-metre Go and the U.S. debut of Diamond Binta, following her attendance at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.
The S520 marks another milestone in Tankoa’s commitment to innovation and luxury, setting a new benchmark for what’s possible in the realm of superyachts.
