The highly anticipated Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) 2025 will play host to the unveiling of a groundbreaking superyacht concept, Lily, from Dutch design house Vripack and renowned yacht builder Oceanco. As part of Oceanco’s Beyond Custom series, Lily represents a new frontier in yacht design, seamlessly blending innovation, luxury, and sustainability.

A Visionary Approach to Yacht Design
Lily’s design embodies the cutting-edge ethos of Oceanco and Vripack, combining progressive aesthetics with practical buildability. “The key requirement from Oceanco was to conceive a yacht for change makers who want to leave a mark,” stated Marnix Hoekstra, Vripack’s co-creative director. “Lily neatly straddles the line between blue-sky thinking and buildability, which is exactly what Beyond Custom is all about.”
Inspired by Nature
Drawing inspiration from the delicate structure of a water lily, Lily’s asymmetrical, split-level design optimizes sightlines, airflow, and onboard experience. The yacht’s exterior lines mimic the overlapping petals of a lily, creating a curving, cocoon-like aesthetic. Hoekstra explains, “We were struck by how a lily’s petals overlap one another and only touch at the centre of the flower. We’ve echoed that structure transversely by layering the decks to create split-level platforms and one-and-a-half deck heights.”

Seamless and Sustainable Innovation
Lily’s steel hull and aluminium superstructure take on the sleek elegance of a sailing yacht. The absence of traditional side walkways and terraces enhances the yacht’s streamlined profile, while one-way glass windows maintain a strong connection between guests and the ocean, ensuring privacy without compromising views.
A major innovation in Lily’s design is its emphasis on natural cooling and shaded spaces. Recognizing the increasing demand for sun protection and energy efficiency, Vripack has integrated significantly more shaded areas than typically found on a superyacht.
Unparalleled Onboard Experience
The yacht features an asymmetrical bow design, a starboard-side walkway, and a helicopter landing pad to port, with ample storage for four tenders and a helicopter below deck. Guests are welcomed aboard via the ‘leisure deck,’ which boasts a four-metre-high ceiling and an expansive wellness area, including a waterside swimming pool, gym, and watersports gallery.
Inside, guests are treated to an open-plan cinema, a glass mezzanine, and a unique children’s play nest accessed via a suspension bridge. Lily houses nine spacious double guest staterooms, ensuring luxurious comfort for all on board.

A Private Sanctuary for the Owner
The top deck of Lily spans an impressive 450 square metres and is exclusively dedicated to the owner. The private suite, ensuite, and wardrobe are positioned half a deck lower to ensure maximum privacy. Complementing this sanctuary is a 315-square-metre sundeck terrace and an open-air lily pond. A glass elevator, integrated within the design, ensures seamless movement between the decks.
Pioneering Sustainability in Yachting
Designed with sustainability in mind, Lily incorporates Lateral Naval Architects’ Energy Transition Platform (ETP), hybrid Dynafin propulsion, and fuel cell technology. The crew areas are meticulously structured for efficiency, with dedicated crew access running below the main deck to maintain uninterrupted service.
Redefining the Superyacht Experience
“For Oceanco, Beyond Custom is about conceiving the type of project that doesn’t come out of any other shipyard,” concluded Hoekstra. “Lily is a concept that steps beyond our industry standards. It’s a boundaryless onboard experience, like the ocean itself, providing pure freedom within the whole concept. It reflects our belief that it’s in the uniqueness of an idea where the true value for the future owner lies.”
With its official debut at the Dubai International Boat Show 2025, Lily is set to redefine the future of superyachting. Stay tuned to Superyachts Channel for exclusive coverage and insights into this revolutionary concept.
