44m Vitters Sailing Superyacht W-Magic Delivered

-

Dutch shipyard Vitters has officially delivered its latest sailing superyacht, the 44.3-metre W-Magic. The sleek fast-cruising sloop, formerly known as hull 3093, is now en route to Cascais, Portugal following its January 2025 launch from the yard’s Amsterdam facility.

Designed for performance and comfort, W-Magic features a trim, modern grey exterior by Reichel Pugh Yacht Design, a renowned US-based studio known for its high-performance sailing vessels. The interiors, meanwhile, are the result of a collaboration between British firm Design Unlimited and Pieter Laureys of TKI, combining contemporary style with refined craftsmanship.

Sleek Design with a Focus on Outdoor Living

W-Magic’s “modern, dynamic exterior lines” are accentuated by a sophisticated superstructure and extensive use of glass, offering natural light and panoramic views. Expansive open deck areas are located at both the aft and forward ends of the yacht, with dedicated sunpads and two alfresco seating areas creating inviting social zones for relaxation and dining. A standout feature is the convertible transom area, which transforms into a beach club right at the water’s edge.

Inside, the yacht continues its focus on light and space. Rich wooden panels and a full-length deckhouse skylight allow for bright, airy interiors that retain a warm, natural ambiance. The result is a refined, comfortable environment well-suited to extended cruising.

Smart Engineering and Seamless Collaboration

The construction of W-Magic began in early 2022, and the yacht incorporates several advanced technical features. These include a dual “submarine” anchor system, a “peak shaving” battery system for efficient energy use, and twin V-drums in the forepeak to support sail handling.

Project engineer Jan Albert de Jonge reflected on the build process: “The strength of this project was our collaboration as a highly cohesive team, where everyone took ownership of their responsibilities while collectively tackling every challenge. The most rewarding part is starting at the drawing board and, in the end, seeing a stunning, fully realised yacht come to life.”

Vitters’ sales and marketing manager, Bas Peute, added: “The project team worked intensively together to fulfil the owner’s requirements of building a safe and comfortable superyacht that also performs well in all weather conditions.”

Looking Ahead

Vitters continues to push the envelope in innovation and sustainability, with three yachts currently under construction. Among them is Project Zero – the world’s first sailing yacht designed to operate entirely without fossil fuels – marking another bold step in the yard’s forward-thinking approach.
