Heesen Yachts Unveils 2025’s First Delivery: Serena, a 55m Steel Marvel

-

Heesen Yachts has proudly announced the delivery of YN 20555, the 55-meter steel yacht named Serena, marking the first superyacht delivery of 2025. This exceptional vessel, sold and project-managed by Arcon Yachts Monaco, showcases a seamless collaboration between the two companies, blending precision engineering with bespoke design.

Rick van de Wetering, Chief Operations Officer at Heesen Yachts, expressed his enthusiasm for this milestone: “We are delighted with the delivery of the first yacht in 2025, another successful project with Arcon Yachts Monaco. Their expertise ensured a smooth process from start to finish. Serena stands out as a unique blend of superyacht excellence and personal customization, built on a proven platform for reliability.”

A Refined Collaboration Between Expertise and Vision

Construction of Serena began in the spring of 2022, with the experienced owners actively involved from the outset, working closely with Heesen engineers and Luca Dini’s Design and Architecture team. Their goal was to create a warm, inviting interior, ensuring long-term comfort on board. Special attention was given to seating arrangements and the use of luxurious yet practical materials to enhance relaxation in every space.

Designed by Omega Architects, Serena features a steel ultra-efficient, fast displacement hull form (FDHF), delivering a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots and a top speed of 15.5 knots, powered by twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 (IMO Tier III) engines. The yacht accommodates 12 guests across five staterooms, providing a balance of elegance and practicality.

Tailored to Perfection

Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts Monaco highlighted the personalization process: “We have fine-tuned the yacht with the owner, enhancing an already fantastic design. By incorporating windows into the beach club to create a serene sauna and relaxation zone, and making subtle changes throughout the vessel, we have tailored it to the owner’s wishes. The result is a stylish and practical design that everyone should be proud of.”

Elegant and Functional Spaces

Serena offers a main saloon divided into three distinct areas, including a fully equipped bar that facilitates seamless indoor-outdoor living. The Sky Lounge serves as a social hub, featuring a custom games table and comfortable seating for entertainment. The beach club, bathed in natural light through glass portholes, is designed as a tranquil waterside retreat, complete with a sauna adorned with elegant wood finishes. The expansive 110-square-meter sun deck boasts versatile furniture arrangements and a forward seating area, perfect for panoramic ocean views.

The owner’s quarters on the main deck include a lounge, office space, and a luxurious full-beam cabin with a private veranda. The lower deck houses four guest staterooms, each featuring unique marble accents in their en-suite bathrooms. A dedicated gym on the bridge deck can be easily retrofitted into an additional cabin if needed.

Superior Handling and Performance

Bob van Zundert, shipyard captain at Heesen Yachts, praised Serena’s handling, stating, “Looking at the numbers, she is a big 55m with 760 GT of internal volume. But when handling, she is responsive and listens to commands very well. She has the comfort and stability of a steel vessel but the maneuverability of her aluminum sisters. Our 55m series gives captains confidence and assurance to sail comfortably at sea.”
