French design agency Alexander McDiarmid Design has unveiled additional details and renderings of its 105-metre superyacht concept, GWP-345. This innovative project draws inspiration from the “engineering prowess” of Destriero, the famed Blue Riband record holder, and marks the second collaboration between McDiarmid and Dutch company Ghost Yachts.

GWP-345 retains the same wave-piercing hull and reverse bow as the duo’s previous concept, G250, but scales up significantly. McDiarmid cited the 67-metre Destriero—renowned for its 1992 transatlantic crossing from New York to the British Isles of Scilly in a record-breaking 58 hours, 34 minutes, and 50 seconds—as a key source of inspiration.
A Tribute to Engineering and Efficiency
“We don’t intend to replicate such a record-breaking yacht but rather honour its engineering excellence, long-range capability, and sustainable high-speed potential,” McDiarmid explained. “By expanding the Ghost G250 platform, we explored a more efficient high-speed propulsion solution while integrating increased sustainability and circularity.”

Designed with an aluminium hull and reinforced carbon superstructure, the GWP-345 is engineered for lightweight construction and low drag, optimizing fuel efficiency and cruising performance.

Luxury and Innovation in Every Detail
The yacht’s interior boasts five VIP guest cabins and a full-beam owner’s suite, all situated on the main deck for seamless circulation. This deck also houses the main saloon, featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing for panoramic views, and a dining area with port and starboard balconies.

Aft of the main deck, guests will find an elevated swimming pool, strategically positioned above a beach club and wellness area. Additional standout features include:
- Foredeck helipad for ultimate convenience
- Sundeck with Jacuzzi and bar, sheltered by a motorized semi-rigid canopy
- Sunken foredeck lounge, which includes a retractable canopy for shaded relaxation
- Hidden crane system to accommodate two 10-metre tenders
Pushing Boundaries with Modern Technology
“The GWP-345 is the concept we simply had to create,” said Björn Moonen of Ghost Yachts. “We pushed the limits of what’s possible with today’s technology and construction methods while ensuring maximum comfort and practicality.”
Sales and Future Prospects
Globe Regal Yachting has been appointed as the exclusive brokerage firm responsible for sales and marketing of the GWP-345 concept. As excitement builds around this visionary design, it continues to push the envelope in sustainable high-speed yachting while honouring Destriero’s legendary legacy.
