Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo has officially revealed the SX120, the latest and largest model in its acclaimed SX crossover series. Set to debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, the 36.6-metre yacht redefines the connection between design, innovation, and the sea.

The SX120 becomes the flagship of the SX range, which launched in 2017 with the SX88 and is known for blending the versatility of explorer yachts with the elegance of flybridge and classic motor yacht design.
Pioneering Propulsion Meets Sustainable Performance
The SX120 is the first composite yacht to be fitted with Volvo Penta’s latest IPS (Inboard Performance System), marking a significant step toward more sustainable propulsion. Powered by twin 1,000hp engines per pod, the system delivers the performance of larger engines with a reduced footprint.
A new Eco Mode dynamically adjusts power output based on real-time demand, cutting fuel consumption, emissions, and mechanical wear — a first in its class.
Radical Reimagining of Space
Described as “a spectacular floating architecture” by lead interior designer Piero Lissoni, the SX120 features a four-deck layout that pushes design boundaries:

- Beach Area: One of the yacht’s most innovative features, this 40–70m² aft space includes a pop-up pool, opening terraces, and sea access on three sides.
- Main Deck: At its heart is a dramatic wood-and-steel staircase, flanked by a formal dining area and a full-beam master suite with direct bow access.
- Lower Deck: Houses four guest cabins (one convertible into a lounge), a Hammam, and crew quarters.
- Upper Deck & Flybridge: A flexible skylounge offers conversion into a media room or dining space, while the flybridge adopts a modular layout for bespoke configurations.

Lissoni emphasized:
“We took everything the SX range taught us and built the SX120 around it. It’s a floating villa—with beaches, open spaces, and a flowing, interconnected layout.”

Evolving a Signature Line
According to Sanlorenzo CEO Tommaso Vincenzi, the SX120 is the “natural evolution” of a range that has redefined modern yachting:
“The SX120 represents a new philosophy of on-board living, where every space feels open, fluid, and immersed in the seascape.”
Sanlorenzo currently has 62 active superyacht projects, including the Sanlorenzo 74Steel series and the 40.7-metre Andiamo, the yard’s current flagship delivered earlier this year.
With the SX120, Sanlorenzo once again affirms its place at the forefront of luxury yacht innovation, blending Italian craftsmanship with forward-thinking design and sustainability.
