Record-Breaking Voyage: Raven Claims Line Honours in 2026 RORC Transatlantic Race

The 33.8-metre Baltic 111 sailing yacht Raven has claimed Monohull Line Honours and set a new race record in the 2026 RORC Transatlantic Race, crossing the 3,000-nautical-mile route from Lanzarote to Antigua in 6 days, 22 hours, 27 minutes, and 47 seconds.

Skippered by Damien Durchon, Raven reached speeds over 30 knots and also secured the IMA Transatlantic Trophy as the first maxi yacht to finish. This marked Raven’s first major offshore race since her 2023 delivery.

Navigator Will Oxley, who guided Comanche to the previous record in 2022, highlighted Raven’s superior performance on certain angles while praising her stability: “This boat is incredibly stable… the better it performs, the safer it becomes.” Skipper Durchon added: “With foils, water ballast, and a strong hull form, Raven is safer than most offshore boats.”

Constructed in lightweight composite by Baltic Yachts, Raven is the largest foiling superyacht in the world. Exterior and interior design are by Jarkko Jämsen, with naval architecture by Botin & Partners. Raven’s innovative design has earned multiple accolades, including four wins at the 2025 Design & Innovation Awards.

Sailing master Brad Jackson praised the crew’s cohesion and the yacht’s sustained speed: “This wasn’t a sprint; it was about keeping the boat in one piece and letting it do what it’s designed to do.” Project co-ordinator Mattias Svenlin added: “Watching Raven sail with such confidence and speed was incredibly rewarding for the whole team.”

Raven’s benchmark IRC corrected time now sets a new standard for offshore monohulls, with competitors already aiming to challenge her record in future races.
