Originally built by Schichau-Unterweser as an ice-class salvage tug, Arctic was transformed into a pioneering expedition yacht in 1994 by Australian billionaire Kerry Packer. At the time of her conversion, she was the largest explorer of her kind and among the first true expedition yachts on the seas. She later earned a Guinness World Record for navigating to the southernmost point ever reached by a motor yacht.

After five extensive refits, Arctic now combines her rugged polar capabilities with a refined superyacht interior. She accommodates up to 12 guests in seven suites, and offers a cinema, gym, and dedicated wellness spaces. Her vast decks — among the largest of any charter yacht — are designed for both relaxation and adventure. The helideck can transform into a dance floor, yoga platform, or alfresco dining space, while an adjustable-depth pool and Jacuzzi provide year-round enjoyment.

The yacht carries an impressive fleet of seven tenders, including a 33-foot Riva and a variety of adventure craft, along with an expansive collection of water toys. With her ice-class hull and long-range autonomy, Arctic has completed voyages to Antarctica, the Arctic Circle, the South Pacific, and the Mediterranean.

Many of her experienced crew have been aboard for more than a decade, offering guests unmatched knowledge and service in some of the world’s most remote waters.

Charters aboard Arctic will commence 15 November in Norway, with a global itinerary to follow, including potential destinations such as Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands. For bookings, contact Ahoy Club.
