Italian shipyard Ocean King has announced the successful launch of Ocean Angel, the second unit in its rugged yet refined Doge 400 GT series. The 40.4-metre explorer yacht is now undergoing sea trials before being delivered to her owner for a season of Mediterranean cruising.
Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Ocean Angel features an exterior penned by Design aLOT and interiors by BURDISSOCAPPONI. Designed with long-range capability in mind, the yacht boasts a range of over 4,000 nautical miles, supported by an engineering platform inspired by commercial ship standards.
Elegance Meets Expedition
Accommodation is provided for 10 guests across five cabins, including a luxurious main-deck owner’s suite outfitted with a wood-lined sauna, dark-tiled Turkish bath, and a dramatic Rosso Levanto marble sink by Antonio Lupi. Crew quarters can accommodate seven members, ensuring seamless service on extended voyages.
The main saloon is configured for comfort and style, with a U-shaped sofa, central television, and a pair of custom “entrance armchairs” tailored to the owner’s preferences. A uniquely Italian design sensibility flows throughout the interiors, with furniture curated from iconic brands such as Minotti, B&B Italia, Tribù, and Kvadrat.

Smart Leisure & Technical Innovation
Among Ocean Angel’s standout features is a beach club area with two fold-out balconies, an integrated gym, and a wellness suite that includes a sauna and hammam. The tender garage is versatile by design, doubling as a technical workspace. A 1.2-ton telescopic crane, concealed in the ceiling, can handle a 6.25-metre tender with ease.
The yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar engines, achieving a top speed of over 15 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots—balancing expedition capability with onboard luxury.
