Nauta Design Unveils 75m Superyacht Concept “Project Velor” with Revolutionary Water Patio

-

Italian design studio Nauta Design has revealed an innovative new concept: Project Velor, a 75.1-metre superyacht that reimagines spatial dynamics and onboard lifestyle. Developed in collaboration with naval architect Francesco Rogantin of Studio Names, Project Velor combines elegance, functionality, and flexibility to deliver a “future-proof” yachting experience.

Sleek, Four-Deck Efficiency with Five-Deck Comfort

Despite its streamlined four-deck structure, Project Velor is crafted to offer the comfort of a five-deck layout, thanks to meticulous space optimization. With a gross tonnage of 1,700GT, the design demonstrates how less can truly be more, reducing volume waste while enhancing liveable areas across the vessel.

Signature Nauta styling – horizontal lines, organic proportions, and subtle geometric structures – ensures the yacht maintains a refined, contemporary profile while remaining highly efficient.

The Year-Round “Water Patio”

At the heart of Project Velor’s innovation lies a multi-functional beach club, or as the designers call it, a “water patio.” Located aft on the lower deck, this open-air oasis is flanked by fold-out terraces and enclosed by retractable glass doors, allowing it to serve as a climate-controlled lounge year-round.

Directly connected to a wellness spa, this area transforms the aft section into a sanctuary of relaxation, perfectly blending indoor comfort with the ambiance of the open sea.

Elevated Onboard Experience

Project Velor emphasizes visual and spatial continuity throughout. Tiered architectural staircases, transparent platforms, and panoramic decks all work in harmony to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior living.

The forward upper deck can serve as a private owner’s retreat or flexible entertaining space, while the multi-purpose sundeck features a pool, sunbathing zones, and even a children’s nest for families cruising with younger guests.

Meanwhile, the engine room’s placement on the under-lower deck allows for an uninterrupted guest experience above, freeing up valuable volume for social and private functions.

Diesel-Electric Propulsion & Green Vision

Powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system made up of four generators (2 x 1,000kW and 2 x 500kW), Project Velor is engineered for efficiency, low emissions, and operational silence. Her beam spans 13 metres with a draft of 3.5 metres, delivering a stable cruising experience in diverse conditions.

A Vision of Seamless Living at Sea

“Project Velor embodies our approach to contemporary yacht design – prioritising openness, continuity, and understated elegance,” said the Nauta Design team. “She is built not only to meet today’s expectations but to anticipate tomorrow’s needs.”

This concept follows Nauta’s continued momentum in 2025, including their collaboration with Vripack on Project Thunderball, a 70-metre CRN superyacht now in the final stages of construction.
