The 2025 Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta concluded with style, spirit, and stiff competition, as some of the world’s finest sailing yachts raced across the pristine waters of the La Maddalena archipelago. Hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) and sponsored by Giorgio Armani, the event once again proved why it is a crown jewel on the Mediterranean sailing calendar.

In an impressive repeat performance, Swan 115 Moat, owned by YCCS member Juan Ball, dominated the Superyacht Class by winning all races for the second year in a row. Her flawless run earned her the Silver Jubilee Cup, while Vitters 107 Anomaly and Southern Wind 100 Morgana rounded out the podium in second and third respectively, both in the final race and overall standings.

Corinthian Spirit: Gelliceaux Claims Victory

The Corinthian Spirit Division delivered an equally thrilling contest. Though Southern Wind 94 Magic Blue, helmed by Tonino Cacace, won the final day’s race by just under three minutes on corrected time, it was the consistent performance of Southern Wind 108 Gelliceaux that earned her overall victory. Magic Blue took runner-up after a tie in points with Grande Orazio, where a stronger day-two finish broke the deadlock.

“This is a truly wonderful event – the sailing area is the best in the Mediterranean. The conditions were challenging, and as a new team, we’re thrilled with this result,” shared the owner of Gelliceaux.

Southern Wind RendezVous & Agapi Mas

Running in parallel to the main regatta was the Southern Wind RendezVous, a non-competitive gathering celebrating the camaraderie of Southern Wind yacht owners. The standout was Agapi Mas, which was awarded the Willy Persico Trophy—an honour given to the yacht best embodying the spirit and vision of Southern Wind’s late founder.

Final Day Highlights

The last race saw the fleet navigate a scenic 14-nautical-mile route, shaped by 6–7 knot breezes and gusts up to 10. The course wound through iconic Sardinian landmarks such as the Monaci islet, Tre Monti shoal, and the Bisce pass, culminating back in Porto Cervo.

At the closing ceremony, YCCS Commodore Andrea Recordati extended thanks:

“To all the owners and to Giorgio Armani, whose ongoing support helps this regatta thrive. And to Southern Wind, celebrating their 19th RendezVous with us – grazie.”

Legacy of Elegance and Excellence

Reflecting on the regatta’s success, Moat’s owner Juan Ball added:

“Everything went perfectly. With Porto Cervo’s beauty and the flawless YCCS organisation — combined with Armani’s elegance — it’s the ideal setting for competitive sailing.”

The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta continues to set the standard for refined competition and relaxed luxury in the world of superyacht racing. The sailing world now looks ahead to 2026, with expectations already building.
