Lazzara Yachts Starts Construction on Flagship UHV 160 with H2 Yacht Design Interiors

US-based shipyard Lazzara Yachts has officially commenced construction on the first unit of its flagship Lazzara UHV 160 series, marking a major milestone for the brand’s ultra-high-volume platform. The 48-metre superyacht is scheduled for delivery in mid-2028.

Named for its Ultra High Volume concept, the UHV 160 is designed to sit just below the 500GT threshold, while delivering interior and exterior space typically associated with significantly larger yachts. Beyond volume, the model has been engineered with long-range capability and transatlantic navigation in mind.

Central to the yacht’s performance is a fast-displacement hull, constructed using advanced epoxy E-glass composite technology. Notably, the design eliminates traditional through-hulls, enhancing structural integrity and long-term durability—an approach aligned with Lazzara’s focus on longevity and innovation.

The UHV 160 represents the largest model in Lazzara’s UHV series, following the sale of the first unit announced in October 2024.

Design and Interior Vision

The exterior styling is bold and masculine, defined by broad, confident lines and expansive glazing that runs seamlessly from bow to stern. Interior design has been entrusted to the UK-based studio H2 Yacht Design, with inspiration drawn from Art Deco and Neoclassical influences, promising a refined yet contemporary onboard atmosphere.

Accommodation is arranged across six guest cabins and five crew cabins, while the owner enjoys a private deck dedicated exclusively to the master suite—offering enhanced privacy and panoramic views.

Outdoor Living at Superyacht Scale

Outdoor living is a defining feature of the UHV 160. According to the shipyard, the usable exterior space rivals that of yachts in the 51- to 58-metre range. Across four expansive decks, guests will find multiple al fresco dining areas, generous sunlounging zones, and relaxed seating arrangements.

The flybridge is particularly versatile, featuring a dedicated gym and yoga area, reinforcing the yacht’s lifestyle-led design philosophy.

At sea level, the yacht boasts a standout aft beach club, described as the most spacious in its class. The area includes a jacuzzi, fold-out balconies, and ample storage for water toys and twin Jet Skis, creating a seamless connection between yacht and ocean.

Advanced Engineering and Naval Architecture

The propulsion system will feature commercial pod drives, chosen for their reduced vibration, enhanced efficiency, and lower environmental impact. Engineering development has been carried out in collaboration with US-based Euro Marine Group, while Mulder Design of the Netherlands is responsible for the naval architecture.

With construction now underway, the Lazzara UHV 160 positions itself as a compelling option for owners seeking exceptional volume, advanced engineering, and long-term cruising capability—without crossing the 500GT boundary.
