The Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regatta is firmly on course for its sixth edition, set to take place from 17 to 20 September 2026 in the waters of Ibiza and Formentera. With the official launch of the invitation process, the organising committee has begun preparations for what promises to be another standout edition on the international superyacht racing calendar.

Led by STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza, Ibiza JoySail remains an exclusive, invitation-only event, bringing together a carefully curated international fleet of sailing superyachts. As in previous years, the invitation process will roll out in phases, starting with yachts that have already taken part in past editions, before extending to new sailing yachts that have expressed interest in joining the regatta — always in line with the event’s ethos, format and sporting spirit.
Expanded access, same DNA
A key development for the 2026 edition is the opening of the regatta to sailing yachts from 80 feet in length, organised into clearly defined categories based on design, specifications and sporting expectations. Among these, the Corinthian category stands out as a cornerstone of Ibiza JoySail’s inclusive philosophy. Created for non-professional crews and owners wishing to race without modifying their yacht’s cruising configuration, this category removes the need for optimisation or complex technical requirements, allowing participants to compete in a relaxed yet competitive environment.

This category structure ensures balanced and engaging racing across the fleet, from more cruising-oriented yachts to higher-performance vessels, while maintaining fairness on the water and preserving the accessible nature that defines Ibiza JoySail.
Racing with family & friends
Over four days, the regatta combines challenging sailing with a carefully curated social programme ashore. Owners, crews, families and guests are invited to enjoy a full schedule of onshore activities that reflect one of Ibiza JoySail’s core principles: racing with family & friends. This blend of competition and lifestyle has become one of the event’s defining characteristics, setting it apart within the superyacht racing circuit.

“Ibiza JoySail has grown while always staying true to its essence,” says Nacho Postigo, Director of Ibiza JoySail. “Edition after edition, we have refined the format to deliver a well-structured regatta, with clear categories and an atmosphere where owners, crews and friends can enjoy both sailing and shared time ashore, always in a unique, safe and welcoming environment.”
A signature sporting challenge
Among the regatta’s most anticipated moments is the Perpetual Trophy, awarded to the yacht that completes the offshore crossing between Mallorca and Ibiza in the shortest time. Now firmly established as one of Ibiza JoySail’s signature challenges, the crossing adds a strategic and sporting dimension that continues to attract top-level sailing yachts and crews from around the world.
Strong industry support
The event enjoys the backing of a strong network of sponsors and partners, including North Sails, Southern Wind, Mangusta, Super Oh!, Monzó Yacht Painting, Varadero Ibiza, Consell de Ibiza, Repsol and Yacht Moving, among others, alongside the collaboration of Club Náutico de Ibiza and Real Club Náutico de Palma. Their continued support plays a vital role in maintaining the high organisational standards and quality experience that define Ibiza JoySail both at sea and on shore.
Held under the SYRA framework and supported technically by ORC, the regatta continues to reinforce its positioning on the international superyacht circuit.
With a limited number of entries, a proven format and a clear focus on quality, shared experiences and the pure enjoyment of sailing, the Ibiza JoySail Superyacht Regatta is making confident headway towards its 2026 edition, once again setting the stage in one of the Mediterranean’s most privileged sailing destinations.
