Dutch shipyard Feadship has announced the launch of its latest 50-metre superyacht, now revealed under the new name Project Aurora, from its facilities in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. Measuring 49.5 metres, the all-aluminium yacht has entered the final phase of construction and will soon be transported to the North Sea for sea trials, with delivery scheduled for spring 2026.

Project Aurora has been kept highly confidential throughout construction, underscoring Feadship’s tradition of discretion for long-standing clients. The yacht was last seen in mid-2024 during transport to Aalsmeer for outfitting, following confirmation of her sale in September to a repeat Feadship owner.
Contemporary Exterior with Strong Design Identity
The exterior design, penned by Studio De Voogt, is characterised by a low-profile, angular silhouette, a distinctive vertical bow, and a long, slender band of glazing running across the superstructure. The design balances sharp modern lines with refined proportions, delivering a confident yet understated presence on the water.
“In the exterior design, we extended the lines without allowing the yacht to feel stretched,” explained Jan Schaffers, Senior Designer at Studio De Voogt.
“The widened shoulders along the sides of the sun deck play a key role in achieving this balance. On the main deck, we focused on creating a strong beach atmosphere.”
When the fold-down bulwarks are deployed, the aft deck opens dramatically, creating uninterrupted sea views and deck space comparable to that of a yacht nearly twice her size.

Light-Filled Interiors by Marty Lowe
The interiors of Project Aurora have been developed by American studio Marty Lowe, working closely with the owner to deliver a calm, contemporary aesthetic. Renderings reveal a pared-back palette, enhanced by bright lighting, natural tones, and granite-inspired finishes. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the yacht maximise natural light while maintaining privacy.
Lifestyle-Oriented Deck Layout
With a beam of 8.9 metres and a draught of 2.3 metres, Project Aurora offers generous volumes across all decks. The main deck aft serves as a key social hub, flowing seamlessly into the beach club and featuring ample seating, a glass-fronted Jacuzzi, and expansive outdoor living areas.

Forward on the main deck, guests can enjoy a private lounge and dining area framed by large windows, offering both panoramic views and a sense of seclusion. Above, the sun deck hosts a flybridge and secondary helm station, complemented by a 14-person dining table, barbecue, bar, and lounge seating. Additional highlights include foredeck sunpads and storage for a Williams Dieseljet 625 and 450 tenders.
Accommodation & Performance
Accommodation is provided for 10 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in wardrobe, marble en suite, private study, and lounge area. The lower deck houses two double and two twin guest cabins, while separate quarters accommodate up to eight crew.
With a volume of 499GT, Project Aurora is equipped with propulsion technology developed through the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive programme. Thruster-based propulsion and steering reduce drag while enhancing efficiency, manoeuvrability, and onboard comfort. The yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 15 knots and offers a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
As Feadship continues to deliver some of the world’s most advanced custom yachts, Project Aurora stands as a refined expression of modern design, owner-focused innovation, and proven Dutch engineering—further reinforcing the shipyard’s leadership in the 50-metre superyacht segment.
