Cass Yacht Design Unveils Two 50m+ Superyacht Concepts for AES Yacht

-

Turkish studio Cass Yacht Design has revealed two new superyacht concepts developed for AES Yacht, showcasing a refined design philosophy that balances architecture, volume and lifestyle-led spaces. The concepts span two size categories: a sub-500GT 50-metre yacht and a larger 70-metre design boasting an impressive 1,500GT of interior volume.

A refined architectural vision at 50 metres

The 50-metre concept is defined by a full-beam, architectural approach, characterised by floor-to-ceiling glazing and private balconies integrated into the yacht’s profile. Designed with a refined minimalist aesthetic, the yacht features flowing lines, balanced proportions and understated elegance.

According to Cass Yacht Design’s Yavuz Akyildiz, the design prioritises calm, light-filled interiors that blur the boundary between indoor and outdoor living. At 499GT, the yacht benefits from regulatory efficiencies while offering interior and exterior spaces that exceed expectations for its size.

Exterior decks are arranged to support both social gatherings and private retreat, reflecting a lifestyle-driven layout. Inside, accommodation is planned for 10 guests across five cabins, including a master suite, two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, with space for up to 10 crew.

Designed for extended cruising without compromising practicality, the yacht is expected to feature conventional propulsion, delivering a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

A bold, futuristic statement at 70 metres

The larger of the two concepts is a 70-metre superyacht defined by a strikingly futuristic silhouette. Bold horizontal lines, tiered decks and extensive glazing create a monolithic profile, while the bridge deck and radar mast are seamlessly integrated into the overall design.

High freeboard accentuates the yacht’s volume, with particular attention drawn to the aft section, where opening platforms transform into a beach house-style space close to the water. One of the design’s most distinctive features is the foredeck cylindrical pool, inspired by an aquarium and enclosed by a dramatic circular stairwell that becomes a visual focal point onboard.

The remaining decks are expansive and adaptable, allowing owners to tailor the yacht to their individual lifestyle. As Akyildiz explains, the design draws its strength from deliberate simplicity, avoiding unnecessary ornamentation in favour of a confident and contemporary identity.

Inside, the yacht’s 1,500GT volume accommodates 12 guests across two master suites and four VIP cabins, supported by quarters for 21 crew. Conventional propulsion is expected to deliver a top speed of 17 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and long-range capability.

Customisable concepts for future builds

Although presented as fully developed projects, both concepts offer a high degree of customisation, allowing owners to adapt layouts, materials and features to suit their personal vision.

Together, the two designs underline Cass Yacht Design’s ability to deliver scalable, forward-thinking superyacht concepts while reinforcing AES Yacht’s ambition to expand its presence in the global superyacht market.
