Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has launched a newly sold 60-metre Amels superyacht, marking the first launch of 2026 at its Vlissingen facilities. The yacht, known as hull 6009, is the ninth unit in the Amels 60 series.

Construction on hull 6009 began on speculation in 2023. Damen Yachting confirmed the sale only weeks before the launch. The yacht will now enter final outfitting and sea trials ahead of delivery later this year.
Proven design with custom interiors
Amels introduced the Amels 60 to the market in 2019. The model features an exterior design by Espen Øino, recognised for its bold lines and distinctive geometric windows. Notable sisterships include Come Together, the first unit in the series, and Entourage, which won a Neptune Award at the 2025 World Superyacht Awards.

This latest Amels 60 features custom interiors by Winch Design, marking the studio’s 21st collaboration with the shipyard. Four of these projects have been part of the Amels 60 line.
“Coastal calm” interior concept
The interior design follows a “coastal calm” theme inspired by the Pacific Islands. Soft sand tones define the swimming platform level, while calming blue hues appear at sea level. On the bridge deck, richer seasonal colours such as reds, greens and golds create a feeling of looking down through treetops.
Following the sale, the owner’s team will work closely with Damen Yachting and Winch Design to add final personal details before delivery.
Hybrid propulsion and key specifications
The yacht is equipped with an advanced hybrid propulsion system, designed to enhance onboard comfort and improve fuel efficiency and range. Damen Yachting’s in-house team developed the naval architecture.
Key specifications include a volume of 853GT, accommodation for 12 guests, and space for 13 crew plus the captain.
“This launch and sale reflect the strong demand for sustainable and versatile superyachts,” said Rob Luijendijk, commercial director at Damen Yachting. “The Amels 60 offers owners the confidence of proven naval architecture, predictable delivery timelines and the flexibility of customisation.”
Luijendijk added: “This launch marks an important milestone and the first Amels launch of 2026. We look forward to working closely with the new owner’s team as the yacht moves toward delivery.”
Amels order book
Amels currently has nine yachts in build or on order. The largest project is the 120-metre Project Tanzanite, which is scheduled for delivery this year. The shipyard also confirmed the sale of its eighth Amels 60 late last year, underlining continued demand for the series.
