Azimut Expands Seadeck Range with Launch of 26m Flagship Model

Italian shipyard Azimut has launched the first unit of its flagship Seadeck 9 yacht. The 26-metre new build was launched at the yard’s Avigliana facilities and remains on schedule for delivery this summer. The yacht will make its public debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The Seadeck 9 serves as the flagship model of Azimut’s hybrid-focused Seadeck series. The shipyard first unveiled the model at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival.

Design focused on nature

Alberto Mancini designed the yacht’s exterior lines. Milan-based studio Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez created the interiors. Together, the teams aimed to reconnect owners and guests with nature through calm spaces and organic design choices.

Azimut describes the interior style as simple and elegant, with a strong focus on the relationship between people and the surrounding environment. Large, floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to fill the interior and enhance the sense of openness on board.

“Fun Island” aft deck concept

One of the Seadeck 9’s standout features is the aft deck, known as the “Fun Island.” This area spans 60 square metres and features three cascading terraces. The space includes large sunpads, a pool and a swim platform that descends toward the sea. The design aims to blur the boundary between yacht and water while creating a shared social area for family and friends.

Milestone for the Avigliana shipyard

The launch marks the largest yacht ever built at Azimut’s Avigliana facility. In 2023, the shipyard completed a €50 million investment programme that upgraded production spaces, workflows and processes. The improvements now allow the yard to build yachts up to 27 metres in length.

“Avigliana represents a unique reality in the industry,” said Giovanna Vitelli, chair of the Azimut|Benetti Group. “Building boats at the feet of the mountains pushed us to develop new solutions and expand our engineering capabilities. Seadeck 9 reflects 50 years of experience and challenges overcome.”

Hybrid-ready propulsion

Azimut confirmed that the Seadeck 9 is prepared to install the Volvo Penta hybrid propulsion system. The Seadeck series targets a reduction in CO₂ emissions of up to 40 per cent during an average year of use, both underway and at anchor.

Azimut currently has 77 yachts under construction or on order. The shipyard also expanded its explorer-oriented range during the previous boat show season, further strengthening its portfolio across multiple yacht segments.
