Cantieri di Pisa unveils the Super Polaris 70: redefining the explorer yacht experience

-

Cantieri di Pisa has revealed full details of its latest concept, the Super Polaris 70, a 70-metre superyacht designed for an adventure-loving owner and developed in partnership with cruise ship specialist T. Mariotti. First announced at the Monaco Yacht Show, this collaboration marks a bold new step in Italian yachtbuilding — one that merges the elegance of Cantieri di Pisa’s heritage with the robust capabilities of a world explorer.

Described by the shipyard as a “new generation of explorer yachts,” the Super Polaris 70 has been designed to operate in any environment — from the icy polar regions to tropical seas — without compromising on comfort, style, or craftsmanship.

The yacht’s design team is entirely Italian, with Antonio Luxardo overseeing the exterior lines and Pulina Exclusive Interiors creating the refined interior atmosphere. The result is a vessel that harmonizes adventure and sophistication, blending luxury with functionality.

A sanctuary for explorers

Spanning four decks, the Super Polaris 70 accommodates 12 guests across six double cabins, including an upper deck VIP suite complete with two private terraces. The layout features a large lounge and dining area opening to an open stern space, which can transform into a volleyball, basketball, or padel court.

The owner’s suite, located on the main deck, is one of the highlights — a serene retreat with two side balconies and direct access to a winter garden, offering panoramic views and natural light.

Italian craftsmanship and timeless design

“The search for new experiences and horizons is emphasised by the desire to offer an oasis of comfort that is perfect in any setting,” said Alessandro Pulina, founder and CEO of Pulina Exclusive Interiors. He described the interior as gentle and dreamlike, featuring neutral tones, natural materials like linen and cashmere, and subtle contrasts that evoke calm and sophistication.

In keeping with Cantieri di Pisa’s tradition, the project champions Italian craftsmanship, using furnishings and lighting produced in collaboration with leading local brands.

Performance meets purpose

Functionality is as vital as aesthetics. The main deck includes an open area that can host two 12-metre tenders, transforming into a social space when they are launched. Additional watertoy storage — for tenders up to 8.5 metres — is available in the lower deck garage.

The beach club is a wellness haven, featuring a counter-current swimming pool, gym, and spa. Meanwhile, the bow section is fully dedicated to crew spaces, ensuring comfort and efficiency for up to 16 crew members.

“The design of all our new projects is studied in minute detail to honour Cantieri di Pisa’s iconic style while introducing innovations shaped by modern owners’ needs,” said Antonio Luxardo, chief designer at the yard.

Powered by twin CAT 3512 engines, the Super Polaris 70 achieves a top speed of 15 knots and boasts an impressive range of 6,500 nautical miles at 10 knots — a testament to her long-range exploration capabilities.

With the Super Polaris 70, Cantieri di Pisa and T. Mariotti redefine the balance between exploration and elegance — proving that adventure, when paired with Italian artistry, can be as luxurious as it is limitless.
