UAE shipyard Romeo Marine has marked a significant milestone with the launch of the first hull in its Romeo 55 superyacht series, the 54.4-metre Al Hanem 2. The vessel touched water for the first time at the builder’s facilities in Dubai Maritime City and is now undergoing sea trials, with delivery scheduled for 2026.
Design & Build
Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Al Hanem 2 carries a generous volume of 780 GT, distinguishing her within the 55-metre segment. Built to Lloyd’s Register classification, the yacht showcases both exterior design and naval architecture by Romeo Marine, while interiors have been envisioned by the Italian design house Pulina Exclusive Design Studio.
Romeo Marine describes the new model as a “concept of light and space”, tailored for both family cruising and sophisticated entertaining. This ethos comes to life in the yacht’s floor-to-ceiling glass panels, double-height ceilings, and seamless indoor–outdoor connections. A skylight above the owner’s suite adds to the natural illumination and sense of openness throughout.
Lifestyle & Amenities
Among the yacht’s standout features is a sculptural spiral staircase with a panoramic lift connecting all decks. The sundeck acts as the social heart of the yacht, complete with a pool, bar, and barbecue area. Meanwhile, the upper deck offers flexibility, converting into a fully equipped gym when required.
Accommodation is arranged for 12 to 14 guests across six double cabins, highlighted by the owner’s retreat – a private haven featuring bespoke finishes, expansive views, and abundant natural light.
Performance
Powered by twin MTU 12V engines, the Romeo 55 achieves a top speed of 16 knots and a transatlantic range of 5,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. Comfort underway is ensured by four zero-speed stabilisers, delivering smooth passages across long voyages.
