The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has unveiled the Introductory Guide to Coastal Tourism Activities, a landmark initiative described as a first-of-its-kind digital gateway designed to accelerate the growth of Saudi Arabia’s coastal tourism sector.

The newly released guide consolidates all relevant information, regulations, and procedures into a single, centralised electronic reference, offering clarity and efficiency for tourists, investors, and industry practitioners. By simplifying access to regulatory requirements, the guide aims to shorten processing timelines and transform the information-seeking process into a smooth, reliable, and fully integrated digital experience.
A Structured Pathway for Yachting
The first series of the guide is dedicated specifically to yachting activities, providing a clear, end-to-end framework covering a yacht’s journey from arrival to departure in Saudi waters. It outlines essential procedures, documentation, licences, and permits, as well as the mechanisms for identifying and confirming ports of entry—whether ports or marinas—through licensed agents.

In addition, the guide includes directories of approved service providers, such as maritime tourism agents, yacht charter companies, and marinas, offering practical support to owners, operators, and crew. Safety requirements and environmental sustainability guidelines are clearly defined, alongside regularly updated regulatory information to ensure compliance and operational confidence.
A comprehensive FAQ section and advisory-based guidance on permitted and prohibited practices further reinforce the guide’s role as a practical and accessible industry resource.
Supporting Vision 2030
According to the SRSA, the guide represents a foundational step in enabling coastal tourism—one of the key pillars driving tourism growth in the Kingdom.

“The significance of the guide stems from its role as a foundational enabler for the coastal tourism activities sector,” the Authority stated. “Its launch is the result of intensive coordination efforts led by the Authority in collaboration with relevant entities to ensure role integration, foster an attractive tourism and investment environment, support the sector’s accelerating growth and align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”
A Growing Yachting Landscape
The launch of the guide forms part of a broader national strategy to enhance yachting and marine tourism across the Red Sea. With major destinations such as AMAALA, NEOM, and The Red Sea Project rapidly taking shape, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a new global hub for luxury yachting and sustainable coastal tourism.

The SRSA’s new guide marks a decisive step toward transparency, efficiency, and international accessibility—key elements in unlocking the full potential of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline.
