Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay has unveiled the first interior renderings of its highly anticipated NL 50 Plus, a 52.6-metre custom superyacht developed in collaboration with renowned Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard. Currently under construction in Istanbul, the vessel is slated for delivery in 2026 and marks a bold step forward in Mengi Yay’s premium yacht portfolio.

“We are enthusiastic to work with Dan Lenard, Carlo Nuvolari and their staff of designers, because their contribution has already brought new ideas, concrete experience and a tangible increase in product quality,” said Hüseyin Mengi, CEO of Mengi Yay.

A Refined, Versatile Interior

The interiors, curated by Nuvolari Lenard, feature a casual yet sophisticated aesthetic, with a warm color palette, clean lines, and high-end materials like premium woods. The design offers a versatile canvas for customization, ensuring each owner’s personal tastes can be seamlessly integrated.

Among the standout areas is the upper deck salon, which flows into a private outdoor space, and a sundeck that’s among the largest in its class. The sundeck will be outfitted with a custom heated spa pool and fire pit, offering a luxurious space for relaxation and entertaining.

Innovative Features and Layout

At the stern, a spacious beach club offers a drop-down platform that extends the sea terrace, accompanied by a custom-built pool that enhances the connection with the ocean. The yacht’s efficient hull was designed by Dutch firm Van Oossanen, known for their performance-focused naval architecture.

The owner’s suite, a 50-square-metre haven, includes a dedicated office, a spa-inspired bathroom, and a sliding balcony terrace that can transform for both private lounging and panoramic views. According to co-founder Carlo Nuvolari, the terrace “slides out with an automatic rail system, allowing owners to enjoy privacy without compromising on safety or comfort.”

Guest accommodations are split across four VIP cabins on the lower deck, along with quarters for eight crew members, ensuring both hospitality and service are top-tier.

Outdoor Living and Entertainment

The foredeck lounge serves a dual purpose—transforming from a daytime relaxation area into an open-air cinema by night. This area also houses storage for a 7-metre tender and an array of water toys, underscoring the yacht’s adventure-ready credentials.

“Our experience and the partnership with Mengi Yay and Camper & Nicholsons has been hugely beneficial,” said Carlo Nuvolari. “Working with Camper & Nicholsons also means we can draw on their experience to make the communication, coordination and control of the projects much easier.”

A Growing Legacy

Mengi Yay currently has six superyachts under construction or on order. The NL 50 Plus follows the successful launches of Serenissima I and Serenissima II, two other flagship projects developed with Nuvolari Lenard, further cementing the shipyard’s reputation for blending cutting-edge design with refined craftsmanship.

The NL 50 Plus is not just a step forward for Mengi Yay—it’s a bold statement about the future of luxury yacht building.
