The Mediterranean superyacht racing calendar sets sail in spectacular fashion as the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2025 officially opens the season in Porto Cervo, hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS). From May 27th to 31st, a curated fleet of 15 superyachts gathers in the crystal-clear waters of northern Sardinia for a week of exhilarating racing, refined hospitality, and haute couture flair.

Now in its third year under the Giorgio Armani banner, the regatta continues to blend high-performance sailing with luxury branding and design. A standout among this year’s fleet is Sørvind by Giorgio Armani, a Southern Wind 105 that embodies the Italian fashion house’s signature elegance and is competing in the Corinthian Spirit Class—a category tailored for owners seeking spirited racing while maintaining a relaxed cruising setup.
Southern Wind’s Strongest Showing Yet
The 2025 edition of the Southern Wind RendezVous & Trophy, now in its 19th year, sees 12 Southern Wind yachts in attendance—its largest participation to date. Five will race under the Corinthian Spirit formula, while five others follow a more informal RendezVous programme, embracing the social, scenic side of sailing the La Maddalena Archipelago.

Among returning champions is the Swan 115 Moat, defending her 2024 Silver Jubilee Cup title. Also joining the regatta is Bullitt, the striking Wally 93 helmed by YCCS Commodore Andrea Recordati, adding to the mix of elite design and competitive prowess.
Lifestyle & Luxury Ashore
As always, the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta is as much a celebration ashore as it is at sea. The YCCS terrace will host the opening cocktail on 27th May, while a Giorgio Armani Mare pop-up store in the Piazza Azzurra will welcome guests daily, offering exclusive collections and a communal “All Together Breakfast” before race departures.

On 29th May, the Giorgio Armani Owners’ Dinner will present a refined culinary collaboration between resident chef Alessio Savona and Michelin-starred Massimo Tringali from Armani Ristorante in Paris. The penultimate evening will be crowned by the Sunset Party on the beach, open to all participants and guests.
A Statement of Synergy
This regatta continues to strengthen the synergy between luxury lifestyle and sailing culture. For Giorgio Armani, whose affinity for the sea is well documented, the event is more than a sponsorship—it’s a natural extension of his brand’s quiet power and craftsmanship.

Racing concludes on 31st May, followed by the official prize-giving ceremony in front of the Yacht Club in Piazza Azzurra. As the sails come down and the trophies are lifted, the 2025 Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta leaves a wake of excellence that sets the tone for the season ahead.
