First Look at Sanlorenzo’s 74Steel, the Yard’s Largest and Most Ambitious Yacht Yet

-

Sanlorenzo has unveiled full details of its much-anticipated 74Steel superyacht model, the new flagship of its fleet, just days before her official launch. Measuring 72 metres with a volume of 1,900GT, the 74Steel introduces a new benchmark for the Italian shipyard’s steel range, blending cutting-edge engineering with timeless Sanlorenzo refinement.

The series is already proving successful, with three hulls sold and a fourth under negotiation. Each unit reflects a high degree of customization, from bespoke interiors and layouts to even alternative bow configurations that subtly alter the LOA.

Designed in collaboration with Zuccon International Project and Francesco Paszkowski Design alongside Margherita Casprini, the 74Steel is as much about innovation as it is about luxury. Her hybrid diesel-electric system, developed in partnership with Siemens Energy, not only improves efficiency but also frees up significant internal volume. This has allowed Sanlorenzo to create a beach club and spa “significantly larger” than those found on comparable yachts.

Among her standout features is an expansive wellness area spanning the yacht’s 13.1-metre beam. It includes a massage room, Hammam plunge pool, sauna, and a family lounge for younger guests. The owner’s deck offers total privacy, with a hot tub, lounge, office, and two spa-inspired bathrooms.

Guests are accommodated across five spacious cabins on the main deck, while the sundeck serves as the primary social hub with its bar, hot tub, sunpads, and a firepit sheltered by a glass windbreak. Additional highlights include a touch-and-go helipad, formal dining on the main deck, and twin tender garages capable of storing a 10-metre Pascoe limo tender, crew tender, and a fleet of water toys.

The interiors emphasize a sophisticated yet eclectic style, featuring matte wood finishes and bold material contrasts for vibrancy and individuality.

“This is our most ambitious project to date,” said Sanlorenzo chairman and CEO Massimo Perotti. “The 74Steel is more than just our largest yacht; it is a statement of elegance, restraint and the purity of living life at sea.”

Originally sold in November 2021 by Edmiston, the 74Steel surpasses the shipyard’s former flagship Attila by six metres. Sanlorenzo continues to expand aggressively, with 46 superyacht projects currently on order or under construction, including three units of the brand-new SX120 series.

The launch of the 74Steel marks a defining moment for Sanlorenzo, further cementing its position among the world’s premier yacht builders.
