The SEA Index® certified superyacht fleet has expanded with the addition of the 35m M/Y Infinity Nine, owned by Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) member and former NBA champion Tony Parker. Built by AvA Yachts in 2022, the vessel was officially recognized at a prestigious ceremony where Parker received the certification from YCM President HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. Since its launch in 2020 by YCM and Credit Suisse (a UBS brand), the SEA Index® has certified 55 yachts, reinforcing its status as a benchmark for sustainable yachting.
M/Y Infinity Nine Earns 3-Star SEA Index® Rating
With a gross tonnage of 333 GT, M/Y Infinity Nine is the second vessel in AvA Yachts’ Kando 110 series. Designed as a compact explorer yacht, it boasts transoceanic capabilities with a range exceeding 6,500 nautical miles, setting a new record for its category. Cutting-edge technologies and energy-efficient features have earned the yacht a 3-Star SEA Index® certification, highlighting a strong commitment to reducing the environmental impact of yachting.

“From the design stage, we were committed to building a yacht that balances innovation, performance, and sustainability. Excellence isn’t just about speed or luxury but also about responsibility toward our planet,” said Tony Parker.
Benefits of SEA Index® Certification
SEA Index® 3-Star certified yachts receive a host of exclusive benefits, including:
- Reduced mooring fees at YCM Marina and Monaco’s three harbors (Port Hercule, Port de Fontvieille, and Cala del Forte).
- Priority mooring access at 15 partner harbors from Menton to Bonifacio, including exclusive locations like Saint-Tropez and the Seychelles (Eden Marina & Port Victoria).
- 10% discount on yacht insurance from Jutheau Husson.
- Reduced sustainability course fees for crew at La Belle Classe Academy, YCM’s premier training center.

SEA Index®: A Standard for Eco-Friendly Yachting
The SEA Index®, developed in collaboration with Lloyd’s Register, provides an independent and transparent evaluation of a yacht’s environmental impact. Using tools like the Lifecycle Emissions Calculator, developed in partnership with RINA, the system enables yacht owners to assess and compare the sustainability of their vessels.
“Through SEA Index® certification, we empower yacht owners to navigate their energy transition with clarity and strategic advantage. Expanding beyond Monaco, our initiative unites a yachting community committed to ocean conservation,” said Bernard d’Alessandri, YCM General Secretary.
A Certification That Continues to Evolve
Awarded the CAPENERGIES label in September 2024, the SEA Index® is the first assessment tool to integrate fuel cell technology analysis into its CO2 certification. The system is also exploring the inclusion of other greenhouse gas emissions, such as NOx (nitrogen oxide) and fine particulates, ensuring a more comprehensive approach to sustainable yachting.
How SEA Index® Evaluates Environmental Impact
The SEA Index® measures environmental performance in grams of CO2 emitted per gross ton per hour, aligning with International Maritime Organization (IMO) methodologies but tailored for yachts over 24 meters. By analyzing each vessel’s technical specifications, the system provides a clear, accurate, and impartial sustainability rating.
By integrating cutting-edge technologies, transparent evaluation methods, and a strong commitment to sustainability, the SEA Index® continues to lead the superyacht industry toward an environmentally responsible future.
