CDM Launches Flagship 46.9m Explorer Yacht RJ

Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has launched RJ, the first unit in its RJ 155 series and the largest yacht the Italian yard has built to date. At 46.9 metres, the rugged explorer is a major step up from the owner’s previous yacht, the RJ 130 (now Nuri), and is designed for long-range cruising with true go-anywhere capabilities.

Commissioned by a repeat client, RJ features a steel hull, extended range of over 5,000 nautical miles, and “top-tier equipment.” “Impressed by both performance and comfort of his former RJ130, the owner chose to upgrade,” said CDM president Ennio Cecchini.

The yacht’s sleek, expedition-ready profile comes from Francesco Paszkowski, who emphasized elongated overhangs and wide stern terraces in the design. Naval architecture is by Pierluigi Ausonio, while interiors are penned by Achille Salvagni and include bespoke loose furniture, a super-equipped gym, and accommodation for 12 guests across five cabins. The full-beam owner’s suite sits forward on the main deck.

Built just under the 500GT mark, RJ spans three decks and a sundeck with generous outdoor living areas. She’s powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines and has 65,000 litres of fuel capacity, allowing for transoceanic passages at 9 knots.

Sales and marketing director Vasco Buonpensiere added, “This extraordinary vessel will undoubtedly bring Cantiere delle Marche to another level.”

Currently, CDM has 17 yachts in build, including three 50m+ Flexplorer 165 models.
