ARES Yachts has revealed the first images and performance details from the sea trials of SIMENA, the Antalya-based shipyard’s debut superyacht in the 60+ metre range. The 62-metre, ketch-rigged sailing superyacht combines timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge engineering, marking a bold new chapter for the Turkish builder.

During her recent trials, SIMENA impressed with exceptional handling and agility, reaching a top speed of 14 knots under power while maintaining balance and silence under hybrid and sail propulsion.
“This is a truly proud moment for our entire team,” said Piraye Sahinkaya Orhun, Yacht Projects Director at ARES Yachts. “SIMENA exceeded our expectations during the trials, showing remarkable speed, maneuverability, and elegance. She embodies everything we set out to achieve — performance, comfort, and timeless sophistication.”
Built from steel and carbon composite to RINA Charter Class C requirements, SIMENA is a genuine bluewater cruiser. Her exterior design by Taka Yacht Design blends classic ketch proportions with refined modern hydrodynamics, while Design Unlimited created an interior that seamlessly unites tradition and contemporary comfort.
Teak decks, varnished sipo mahogany joinery, and Doyle Stratis sails evoke the golden age of sailing, while B&G navigation systems and Miele appliances ensure a state-of-the-art experience. The yacht features a hybrid propulsion system, allowing silent cruising up to 6 knots on electric power, and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots when combined with her 882 kW diesel engine.
Onboard, SIMENA accommodates 12 guests and 9 crew in understated luxury. The owner’s suite, positioned forward on the main deck, offers sweeping views and meticulous craftsmanship. Interior spaces are defined by walnut cabinetry, tonal leathers, antiqued brass, and Calacatta Oro marble, creating an atmosphere of quiet sophistication.
Now ranking among the top 25 largest sailing superyachts in the world, SIMENA stands as a statement of ARES Yachts’ capability and ambition — a vessel that merges classic beauty with modern innovation to define a new era of Turkish yachtbuilding.
