DYDXL Design Forge Unveils Explorer Yacht Concept Hoia100

-

Italian studio DYDXL Design Forge has revealed Hoia100, a 30.5-metre explorer yacht concept designed to open a new chapter in contemporary explorer yacht design. The project brings the volumes, long-range capability and bold profile typical of larger expedition yachts into a more accessible and versatile size, without compromising functionality or performance.

Designed for extended cruising, Hoia100 offers an impressive 3,500-nautical-mile range, enabling long exploration itineraries. A diesel-electric propulsion system allows for efficient cruising and reduced environmental impact, with the yacht able to operate in full-electric mode for up to 30 minutes, ensuring silent, zero-emission navigation in protected or sensitive areas.

One of the concept’s standout features is its innovative toy storage and deployment system, developed to maximise onboard space while maintaining clean, uninterrupted exterior lines. The tender is housed aft within a multifunctional beach club compartment. When closed, the hatch forms a flush deck area furnished with sun loungers; during deployment, it slides beneath the main deck floor. Once the tender is launched, the compartment can be filled with water and transformed into a swimming pool, while fold-down side platforms open the space into a generous sea terrace. Additional storage includes a dedicated bow jet-ski locker, which converts into a sunbathing area when closed, as well as a hidden crane for easy water-toy handling.

The interior layout is centred on flexibility and comfort, inspired by the lifestyle of modern explorers. Accommodation is provided for up to 10 guests in four guest cabins and an owner’s suite, along with quarters for a crew of four. Two main interior lounges are arranged on the main and upper decks, while the flybridge is conceived as a social hub, featuring a dining area, bar and sunbathing zones that can adapt to different moments of the day and cruising scenarios.

From a technical standpoint, Hoia100 is powered by two Volvo IPS40 units paired with three Volvo D13 generators, delivering a projected top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. Key specifications include a volume of 110 GT, a beam of 8.2 metres and a shallow draft of 1.8 metres, making the yacht suitable for both offshore exploration and coastal cruising. The concept can be built in fibreglass or aluminium.

“At its core, Hoia100 is about bringing the explorer yacht philosophy to a more accessible and versatile size,” said Franco Gnessi, founder and designer of DYDXL Design Forge. “It delivers the robustness, autonomy and operational mindset of expedition yachts, combined with modern design, convertible spaces and efficient propulsion.”

Hoia100 follows the studio’s unveiling of a 48.8-metre explorer yacht concept last October, reinforcing DYDXL Design Forge’s vision for a new generation of smart, sustainable and experience-driven explorer yachts.
