The Balearic Superyacht Forum Evolves into the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum: A Bold Step Toward Global Industry Leadership

-

After two days of high-impact dialogue, global participation, and forward-thinking insights, The Balearic Superyacht Forum 2025 concluded not just with applause—but with a powerful new direction for the future. Beginning in 2026, the forum will adopt a new identity: the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum.

This evolution is far more than a rebranding. It marks the emergence of a truly international platform designed to position the Mediterranean as a strategic epicenter for the global superyacht industry.

A Natural Evolution for a Growing Vision

Launched in Palma as a regional initiative to strengthen the Balearic Islands’ marine sector, the forum has rapidly outgrown its initial scope. The event has evolved into a magnet for international professionals, innovators, shipyards, brokers, marina operators, and thought leaders who seek real dialogue and practical solutions to the industry’s most pressing challenges.

The 2025 edition brought together over 250 professionals and 150 companies, uniting stakeholders across the value chain. With keynote presentations, expert-led panel discussions, innovation hackathons, and curated networking experiences, the forum showcased its growing role on the global stage.

“The forum no longer speaks only of the Balearics,” said Guillermo García, President of Balearic Marine Cluster, the event’s organizing body. “The Mediterranean is a strategic hub for the superyacht sector and deserves a forum that matches its relevance. This evolution reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration.”

Why the Mediterranean Matters

The Mediterranean is home to over 70% of global superyacht traffic during the summer season. From Palma and Barcelona to Monaco, Turkey, and the Adriatic coast, the region is a critical anchor for marinas, refit yards, charter operations, and talent development.

Renaming the forum affirms the region’s unified vision and shared challenges. It signals a shift toward cross-border cooperation, with a focus on:

  • Operational excellence
  • Digital transformation
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Refit infrastructure and standards
  • Workforce development and training
  • Policy alignment and smart regulation

Staying Rooted in Palma, Opening to the World

While the name and scope are expanding, Palma de Mallorca will remain the forum’s home base, reinforcing the Balearic Islands as a leading player in global yachting.

The Mediterranean Superyacht Forum will be open to all regions and stakeholders, serving as a neutral, collaborative platform for the international community to exchange knowledge, develop partnerships, and co-create solutions.

“The future of the industry depends on building bridges between regions,” added García. “We must share knowledge, align efforts, and shape a united vision. The Mediterranean deserves a forum that reflects its importance.”

2026 and Beyond: A New Standard for Strategic Dialogue

Set to return in spring 2026, the newly named Mediterranean Superyacht Forum aims to become Europe’s premier annual gathering for shaping the future of yachting. With continued support from key institutions, marinas, shipyards, brokers, and governments, the event is poised to influence global trends from a distinctly Mediterranean perspective.

The 2025 forum coincided with the opening of the Palma International Boat Show, reinforcing the city’s status as a hub of innovation, policy, and commerce for the global yachting ecosystem.

Conclusion

With this bold rebranding, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum redefines what it means to convene — not just to talk, but to act. In a rapidly changing global landscape, it sends a clear message: the Mediterranean is not only a destination — it’s a driver.
