The inaugural Sydney Charter Show has concluded with strong momentum, delivering a two-day showcase that firmly positioned Australia as an emerging force in the global superyacht charter market.

Held on 22–23 February at the revitalised Jones Bay Superyacht Marina, the event welcomed domestic and international charter brokers, industry leaders and invited guests to explore a curated selection of Australia’s leading charter yachts.
Presented in partnership with Platinum Partners Ankor Software, Echo Yachts and Jones Bay Superyacht Marina, the Show evolved from five years of the successful Superyacht Australia Soirée into a more structured, charter-focused format. The extended two-day schedule provided brokers with dedicated time onboard to connect with captains and crew, assess yacht offerings and gain first-hand knowledge of cruising itineraries across Australia and the South Pacific.
A Fleet on Display
The docks were filled to capacity, showcasing a diverse mix of newly launched, recently refitted and heritage vessels. Leading the line-up was 54-metre Mischief, Sydney’s largest charter superyacht, alongside the 39-metre explorer Evolution. Other notable yachts included Orraia, Lady Pamela, Southern Cloud, Sir Thomas Sopwith and the adventure-focused Shore Thing.

The combination of modern motor yachts, classic sailing yachts and specialised charter concepts reflected the breadth of Australia’s offering — from luxury coastal cruising to expedition-style and fishing charters.
Onshore Activation and Destination Showcase
Beyond the docks, the wharf transformed into an interactive lifestyle showcase. Luxury brands, marine service providers and destination representatives activated the space, creating a seamless link between the on-water experience and the broader superyacht ecosystem.
Representatives from Fiji’s Port Denarau Marina and the Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef joined Coral Sea Marina and Hamilton Island Marina to present regional cruising opportunities, reinforcing Australia and Fiji’s appeal as extended charter destinations.

The event also attracted significant international attendance, with representatives travelling from across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States — timing that strategically aligned with SailGP in Sydney and the upcoming Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Industry Endorsement and Strategic Growth
David Good, CEO of Superyacht Australia, described the Show as a new benchmark for the industry in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the importance of presenting Australia’s charter fleet on a world-class stage.
The event was followed by the Australian Superyacht Conference, held in Sydney for the first time, extending networking opportunities between charter agencies, captains, shipyards and service providers. Together, the two events created a powerful platform for collaboration and strategic discussion around the continued growth of Australia’s superyacht sector.
Sustainability and Community Engagement
Charity partner The International SeaKeepers Society reported eight vessels signing up to participate in ocean research initiatives during the Show — a tangible outcome reflecting the growing alignment between charter operations and marine conservation.
A private captains’ dinner overlooking Sydney Harbour further strengthened the sense of community, reinforcing Australia’s reputation for collaboration and professional camaraderie within the superyacht sector.
A Calendar Fixture in the Making
With strong broker engagement, high-quality vessels and international participation, the Sydney Charter Show has signalled its intention to become a fixture on the global charter calendar.
As Australia continues to expand its charter fleet, marina infrastructure and service capabilities, events like this underscore the country’s readiness to compete on the world stage — not just as a cruising destination, but as a serious, strategically positioned superyacht hub for the Asia-Pacific region.
