Italian shipyard ISA Yachts, part of Palumbo Superyachts, has introduced a striking new 70-metre superyacht concept named Blade, marking the beginning of its collaboration with Lobanov Design, led by designer Igor Lobanov.

Positioned within the evolving “grand sport” segment, Blade represents a bold reinterpretation of ISA’s design DNA—combining performance-driven architecture with a strong, sculptural identity.
A Sculptural Approach to Performance Design
The 70-metre concept is defined by its fluid, continuous lines, conceived as a single sculptural form stretching from bow to stern. A distinctive concave, slightly reversed bow integrates stainless steel detailing, concealed anchoring systems and custom fairleads, reinforcing the yacht’s clean and refined profile.

With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and an internal volume of approximately 1,300GT, Blade balances presence with performance. The exterior styling draws subtle inspiration from late 19th and early 20th-century vessels, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.
Glazing plays a central role in the yacht’s identity, featuring dotted glass panels and contrasting dark inserts, while the superstructure combines glass and painted surfaces shaped with dynamic curvature to evoke motion even at rest.
Exterior Innovation and Functional Design
Among the concept’s standout features is a transforming aft garage door, which converts into a bench overlooking the sea when closed—blending functionality with lifestyle. Additional details include recessed teak elements and custom fender solutions, enhancing both aesthetics and usability.

The design prioritises outdoor living while maintaining a sleek, performance-oriented profile typical of the grand sport category.
Owner-Centric Layout
The interior arrangement places the owner’s suite aft on the upper deck, complete with a private terrace designed to maximise privacy and uninterrupted sea views. The overall layout reflects a focus on exclusivity, comfort and seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
Performance and Range
Powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53L engines, Blade is projected to reach a top speed of 17.5 knots, with a cruising speed of 14 knots and an estimated range of 5,000 nautical miles, positioning it as a capable long-range performer within its segment.
Strategic Direction for ISA Yachts
According to Giuseppe Palumbo, sole director of Palumbo Superyachts, the project represents a strategic evolution for the brand:
“ISA Blade 70 metres represents a new interpretation of the ISA Yachts DNA and a project of significant strategic value.”
The unveiling of Blade also signals the start of a broader partnership between ISA Yachts and Lobanov Design, with larger and more ambitious projects already in development.
As the grand sport segment continues to evolve, Blade positions itself as a concept that blends design identity, innovation and performance, reflecting the next direction of high-performance superyacht design.
