Ferrari has revealed the pioneering energy management system behind its 30-metre Hypersail, the revolutionary foiling monohull currently under construction in Pisa, Italy.
Set to launch in late 2026, Hypersail is designed to become the world’s first yacht of its size capable of operating entirely on renewable energy. The yacht will generate power through solar panels, wind turbines and crew-produced energy, eliminating the need for fossil fuels during offshore racing.
At the heart of the project is Ferrari’s innovative Winch by Wire technology, which converts the crew’s physical effort directly into electrical energy to power onboard systems. An advanced 800V electrical architecture, intelligent flight control system and 100 square metres of integrated solar panels further support the yacht’s complete energy autonomy.
Designed by renowned naval architect Guillaume Verdier alongside Ferrari’s engineering and design teams, Hypersail combines cutting-edge sailing technology with Ferrari’s unmistakable styling and engineering expertise.
Expected to enter competition in 2027, Ferrari Hypersail represents a major milestone in sustainable offshore racing, redefining the future of high-performance sailing through innovation and renewable energy.
