Italian automotive giant Ferrari has unveiled the first full view of the hull of its groundbreaking 30-metre foiling yacht, Ferrari Hypersail, as construction progresses in Pisa, Italy.

The major milestone comes after the yacht’s hull was successfully removed from its mould following more than a year of lamination, curing and structural assembly. The process included the installation of bulkheads and internal structures, revealing for the first time the scale, sleek proportions and advanced engineering behind the ambitious project.

Designed as a next-generation ocean-racing monohull, Ferrari Hypersail combines cutting-edge sailing technology with the unmistakable DNA of Ferrari performance design. The yacht is being developed by renowned French naval architect Guillaume Verdier alongside Ferrari’s Tech Team led by Matteo Lanzavecchia and Marco Guglielmo Ribigini, with styling by the Ferrari Design Studio under Flavio Manzoni.
The yacht’s streamlined silhouette draws inspiration from iconic Ferrari models including the Monza SP1/SP2 and the Le Mans-winning Ferrari 499P Hypercar. Aerodynamic and hydrodynamic efficiency remain central to the project, with every design element shaped by performance requirements.

One of the most innovative aspects of Hypersail is its fully energy self-sufficient system. Once launched, the yacht will operate entirely without a combustion engine, relying instead on renewable energy sources including solar, wind and kinetic energy. Integrated solar panels have been carefully positioned across the deck and hull sides following extensive solar exposure studies, while remaining fully walkable for crew operations.
The vessel will also feature an advanced foiling system supported by an innovative canting keel and sophisticated flight control technology derived directly from Ferrari’s automotive expertise. All onboard systems — including foil controls, navigation computers and motion systems — will generate power autonomously while under sail.

Ferrari recently unveiled the yacht’s official livery during Milan Design Week, featuring the striking “Nuovo Giallo Fly” yellow by Boero Yacht Coatings contrasted against a lightweight carbon-fibre hull finished in “Grigio Hypersail”. The colour palette pays tribute to Ferrari’s heritage while reinforcing the futuristic identity of the project.
With the hull now complete, Ferrari Hypersail enters the next phase of construction, including the installation of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems ahead of launch and sea trials later this year.
The project represents one of the most ambitious crossovers between automotive engineering and offshore sailing ever attempted, positioning Ferrari at the forefront of innovation both on land and at sea.
