Benetti Reveals 70m Clear Waves with 400sqm Glass Dome and Next-Generation Wellness

-

Benetti has unveiled Clear Waves, a 70-metre superyacht concept developed with Luca Dini Design & Architecture and wellness specialist The Longevity Suite. Presented ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, the steel-and-aluminium project explores how wellness, environmental technology and architecture could shape the next generation of superyachts.

At the heart of the concept is a striking 400-square-metre Glass Dome, spanning two decks and designed to create a continuous connection between the interior and the surrounding environment. With 360-degree views, the structure is intended to bring natural light into the yacht throughout the day and offer a distinctive perspective on the sea and sky.

More than 60 per cent of the dome’s surface incorporates translucent photovoltaic panels. Its glazing is designed to limit heat transfer and filter infrared radiation and UV rays, while an advanced HVAC system and natural ventilation work to support onboard comfort.

Wellness at the Centre of the Design

Rather than isolating wellness in a conventional lower-deck spa, Clear Waves places its wellness area on the upper deck, surrounded by natural planting. The space combines relaxation areas, a food and beverage island, hot and cold water circuits, and dedicated treatment facilities.

Developed in collaboration with The Longevity Suite, the programme incorporates personalised assessments and a range of recovery and biohacking technologies, including whole-body cryotherapy, dry floating, near-infrared therapy and hydrogen-oxygen therapy.

The concept is built around five principles: environment, movement, social connection, mental and spiritual wellbeing, and technology. The intention is to integrate these elements into everyday life on board, rather than treating wellness as a separate activity.

A New Interpretation of the Oasis Deck

Clear Waves also draws on the design language of Benetti’s Oasis family. Its outdoor living spaces include a version of the Oasis Deck, with fold-down balconies, an infinity pool, a veranda and a cabana.

The arrangement is intended to strengthen the connection between the yacht and the sea, while the Glass Dome introduces a complementary focus on the sky and the surrounding landscape.

“Designing Clear Waves meant interpreting the new era of regenerative luxury through the distinctive language of our studio,” said Luca Dini. He described the spaces as a living ecosystem, designed to bring people, the environment and the sea closer together.

Hybrid Propulsion and Integrated Energy Systems

The concept’s environmental ambitions extend to its engineering. Clear Waves is designed around a hybrid propulsion configuration with a dual-fuel system capable of using HVO biofuel and methanol. The system has been validated by Lloyd’s Register and developed in collaboration with Meccano Engineering.

More than 250 square metres of solar panels are incorporated across the yacht, with a stated capacity of up to 120kWh. A power management system is designed to coordinate energy generation, storage and consumption, alongside heat recovery, water treatment and emissions-control systems.

Benetti’s Head of Product, Sebastiano Vida, described the project as an evolution of the Oasis philosophy: if the Oasis Deck redefined the relationship between the yacht and the sea, Clear Waves also turns attention towards the sky and the individual.

A Concept for the Future of Superyacht Design

Clear Waves has been developed over several months, with attention given to its technical feasibility. However, the 70-metre yacht remains a concept, and no order has been announced.

With its combination of large-scale glass architecture, integrated wellness facilities, renewable energy systems and alternative-fuel capability, Benetti is exploring a different measure of luxury—one centred not simply on volume and amenities, but on the quality of time spent on board.

For the Italian shipyard, Clear Waves offers a vision in which the yacht becomes an environment designed around both the wellbeing of its guests and its relationship with the natural world.
