Dutch builder Damen Yachting has announced the launch of Project Zurich, the third hull in its Amels 80 series. The 80-metre superyacht touched water at the yard’s Vlissingen-East facility and will now be transferred to the company’s main headquarters in Vlissingen City for final outfitting, with delivery scheduled later this year.

Sold just months after the model’s debut in 2022, Project Zurich is said to feature a number of distinctive elements that differentiate her from her sisterships. The launch follows closely behind the second hull, Netto II, and comes less than a year after the delivery of the first unit, Pangea, underlining strong momentum for the series.
The Flagship of the Limited Editions Range
The Amels 80 represents the largest model in the shipyard’s acclaimed Limited Editions line. Exterior design is by long-time Amels collaborator Espen Øino, while naval architecture is handled in-house by Damen Yachting.

At 2,175GT, the platform offers generous volume and a layout focused on lifestyle and long-range cruising. Standout features include a 200-square-metre sundeck with a substantial jacuzzi, a private owner’s deck and a foredeck helipad—elements typically associated with even larger custom builds.
A Beach Club Defined by Light and Space
One of the most striking areas on board is the beach club, designed as a fully fledged waterfront lounge. Unfolding sea terraces on three sides create a seamless connection to the water, while direct access leads to a gym, hammam and sauna.

Above, a 6.5-metre glass-bottomed swimming pool on the main aft deck filters natural light into the space below, enhancing the sense of openness and architectural drama.
A New Interior Direction
While the interiors of the first two hulls were penned by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Project Zurich introduces a new, confidential design team. Damen describes the aesthetic as bright and highly customised, tailored specifically to the owner’s brief.
Accommodation is arranged for up to 14 guests across seven cabins, supported by a crew of 21. Ample storage capacity ensures space for tenders and a full complement of water toys, reinforcing the yacht’s dual role as both luxury retreat and capable global cruiser.
Moving Toward Delivery
According to Damen Yachting project manager Sander Peeters, the launch marks a significant milestone, particularly as the yard manages multiple large-scale builds simultaneously. The focus now shifts to final outfitting and commissioning ahead of delivery.

With three Amels 80 yachts now launched or delivered in rapid succession, the model continues to demonstrate the enduring appeal of the Limited Editions concept—combining the efficiency of a proven platform with the individuality of a semi-custom superyacht.
