Heesen’s latest 50-metre superyacht, Project Orion, has made its first appearance outside the shed, marking a key milestone ahead of its scheduled delivery this spring. Launched in December 2024 at the Dutch shipyard’s Oss facility, the sleek aluminium yacht showcases an aggressive profile penned by Omega Architects.

Built on speculation, Project Orion follows in the footsteps of sisterships Home and Amare II, offering a Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Van Oossanen for improved efficiency. The yacht’s hybrid propulsion system enables silent cruising at 10 knots, with fuel consumption dropping to just 45 litres per hour in hybrid mode.

Inside, designer Cristiano Gatto has crafted a luxurious yet comfortable interior, featuring high-gloss woods, woven leather, and marble accents. Accommodation is spread across six cabins for 12 guests, including a main deck owner’s suite and a full-beam VIP on the lower deck. Notable amenities include a 26-square-metre wellness area with a sauna and gym, as well as a 77-square-metre sundeck with a whirlpool and flexible lounge space for entertaining.

“To have immediate access to such exceptional quality – engineered for both style and security – is truly extraordinary,” said Ruud van der Stroom, CCO at Heesen.

With Project Orion nearing completion, Heesen continues to be a hive of activity, with 10 projects currently in the pipeline, including the recently launched 55-metre Solemates (ex-Project Venus).
